New York Rangers

Pavel Buchnevich (Current Cap Hit $3,250,000, 54GP-20G-28A) Offer Sheet/Trade

A young goal-scoring winger, Buchnevich, is an excellent young player. He would be a perfect fit in the Oilers’ top 6. It may cost the Oilers a lot to bring him in. I think the Oilers should give up a lot to get him. The Rangers are going to need to sign a lot of their young players in the next couple of years and that is going to push them to the limit cap-wise. They are likely going to have to give up one of them. So the Oilers could have a chance if the Rangers are looking at it this way.

Philadelphia Flyers

Nolan Patrick (Current Cap Hit $874,125, 52GP-4G-5A) Trade

Still young in his career, Nolan Patrick, has struggled to gain traction in the NHL. Being second overall pick in 2017, Patrick hasn’t made the impact and 2nd overall pick should be making. The Flyers may be about to give on this player. If he is available this is a player that the Oilers should get and try and reboot his NHL career. A change of location could be what it take for Patrick to get back to that 2nd overall level he once had.
