New Jersey Devils

Ryan Murray (Current Cap Hit $4,600,000, 48GP-0G-14A) UFA

A former second overall pick, Ryan Murray was on the first pairing in New Jersey. He could play top minutes on the Oilers, taking some of the load off of Nurse. I think Murray would be a perfect fit for the Oilers if Klefbom is unable to return next season. This would bring the Oilers back to having two top-left defensemen.

New York Islanders

Kyle Palmieri (Current Cap Hit $4,650,000, 51GP-10G-21A) -UFA

A trade deadline hot ticket Kyle Palmieri will likely be heading to free agency. Currently situated on the Islanders’ 3rd line Palmieri would be another one of those players that in a good team he is on your bottom six. That being said he does also have to skill to move up into a top 6 scoring role as he has scored more than 20 goals per season more times than not.

Joshua Ho-Sang-UFA

Holland has been know to offer up a show-me league minimum contract to players. Ho-Sang, a first-round pick in 2014, could be another one of those players. Although he has had a few off-ice issues, he was a skilled player in the OHL, averaging more than a point per game. Can he get his off-ice issues under control and show up on a PTO and win a spot in this roster? Depending on what other moves the Oilers make there is a chance.
