The Edmonton Oilers have much to play for tonight at home in Rogers Place as they host the visiting Montreal Canadiens. They have an opportunity to continue working their way up the North Division on top of extending a rather impressive winning streak at home. As it stands at this point in time, they’re 3rd at 27-15-2 in a very tight race for being 1st in the North Division.

With winning eight straight home games so far this season, it would be quite the sight to see them make it nine in front of their passionate fans. The Oilers have been making many headlines thanks to the amazing plays of their star center and captain, Connor McDavid. He needs just one more goal to make it 75 on the season as he’s the NHL’s scoring leader heading into tonight’s game.

Center and alternate captain Ryan Nugent-Hopkins returns tonight for the Oilers after he’s missed the last four games due to an unfortunate upper-body injury. The Canadiens are coming off of back-to-back losses and will look for a win to bounce back as they’re right behind the Oilers in the latest Division standings at 19-15-9. Expect a close, tight game where it may very well come down to the Oilers’ defense stepping up when needed most if they’re to leave this game victorious.
