Unfortunately for the Edmonton Oilers, they lost their first Battle of Alberta on Saturday to the Calgary Flames. It was a game they started out red-hot in but unfortunately, could not focus enough to finish the game on a high note. The Oilers are still trying to find their overall identity but as always this season, all they can do is move on to the next one as their main issues lie on defense.
Tonight, the Oilers are looking to bounce back against another team that is also in a similar situation. The Ottawa Senators are also coming off of a loss but at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens. Considering this is another road game for the Oilers, it’s imperative they continue to fix their issues on defense if they’re ever to get on top of the North Division. They can score relatively well but unfortunately, their defense can’t hold onto a lead for the life of them.
Hopefully, the Oilers can start the week off with a win tonight as it can help set the tone for another winning streak. The Oilers will play the Senators again on Tuesday night before a day off then end the week with a matchup against the Canadiens on Thursday. Here’s to ending the week with three straight wins.
