Fresh off of putting on an offensive showdown against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night, the Edmonton Oilers are back and ready to see if they can finally start putting everything together. As a team, they scored 8 goals on Sunday and looked red-hot when it mattered most but of course, consistency is the name of the game.
Forward Leon Draisaitl put on such a display of brilliance that it looks like he can be exactly what the Oilers need to continue this momentum. Hopefully, Draisaitl ends up being that catalyst needed in turning things around for the Oilers as they begin the new month of February. It’s time to start working on the battle plan to work their way up in the North Division.
If the Oilers can sweep the Senators tonight, that would be the icing on the cake as the team gets a well-deserved three-day break until their next game on the weekend. All eyes will be on Draisaitl to see if he can lead the charge once again and help the Oilers start creating their overall identity this season.
