Can the Edmonton Oilers finally do it? Coming off a big overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Oilers have a golden opportunity to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. They’ve proven to be able to keep up with better teams like the Maple Leafs as now it’s all about putting some winning streaks together to help get back on top of the North Division.
It’s no secret that the Oilers are just a few changes away from finally having a consistently winning team game in, game out. It won’t be easy but head coach Dave Tippett continues to tweak things daily to put the Oilers in the best position to win hockey games. Hopefully, that translates to another win tonight to end the month of January with something to smile about.
In case you missed it, on Saturday, the Oilers did call up goaltender Troy Grosenick from the AHL and have him ready to play when needed. Of course, many believe that goaltender Mikko Koskinen is in dire need of a night off as perhaps tonight it could happen or at least, sometime this upcoming week. Keep an eye out in case Tippett decided to split playing time tonight between Koskinen and Grosenick.
