The Edmonton Oilers and NHL unveiled their new Adidas jerseys Tuesday. Though the change has been much anticipated, a lot of the new sweaters are being met with mixed reviews.

Edmonton’s new jerseys are not entirely different from the ones this past season. The jerseys are still primarily orange with blue shoulders; however, the orange appears paler on this sweater, and the blue shoulders have been darkened to navy blue.

When it comes to details, there are some noticeable changes. First off, the stripes are blue and white and the collar is no longer blue and orange but is blue and white. The NHL crest is also no longer part of the V-neck but is in the middle of the front collar. It also appears as if the numbers are a very dark blue, or even black.

Here is what the jersey looks like from multiple angles:

The orange jerseys became a fan favorite when they were first used for the “Farewell Rexall” tour in 2015-16. They became the team’s official alternate jerseys in 2016-17 and their primary jerseys in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The team has also officially retired their blue sweaters.

The jersey appears somewhat similar to the one that Icethetics reportedly leaked this past weekend; however, the white part of the collar appears thinner on the official jerseys.

While some fans like the new jerseys, others are not crazy about the change.

Other fans have taken quite the liking to the new sweaters and plan to purchase it as soon as it hits the market.

Edmonton has yet to release their away sweaters, but they will most likely look like this, but be primarily white.

Personally, I like the jersey; the stripes are not too much, and the collar isn’t the worst (though it isn’t the best either). Still, the orange/navy blue combination looks much better than imagined, and the Oilers could make a great impact in these new sweaters.
