The Edmonton Oilers are getting ready for their next season, which is also when they will be debuting new jerseys.

This was the final season that the NHL would have Reebok as the official jersey provider of the NHL. Now, the sweaters will be Adidas, and it’s even possible that ads will be placed on jerseys. However, Gary Bettman said at the All-Star Game that the NHL has not decided to move forward with advertisements on jerseys and that the league takes great pride in its jerseys.

The new Adidas jerseys will be like the ones worn at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. However, the switch allows for only two sweaters, home and away, and no alternate uniform. This, in turn, has led multiple teams to decide to switch up their designs, including Edmonton.

The Oilers have announced that they will wear their orange alternate jerseys, but darken the royal blue parts of the jersey to a navy blue. This would make the blue appear less bright on the jerseys. Here is what the jerseys look like with navy blue in place of royal blue.

While the color would look different, it wouldn’t appear too dark. The blue would just appear richer and make the colors compliment each other better.

Overall, the jersey change will work out fine for Edmonton, and they should be quality sweaters regardless.
