After an outstanding 7-1 win in Game 6 to tie the series at 3, the Oilers proved their ability to keep their season alive and stack up against one of the top teams in the West. Despite the fact that the Ducks won three straight games, Edmonton responded well and fed off the energy around them, while also jumping to an early lead and not letting up on the gas pedal.

If the Oilers want to win Game 7, they will have to do the same thing and come out with monumental energy from the get-go. Also, Edmonton must take advantage of any frustration the Ducks may be feeling by maintaining possession of the puck. If they do that, and also keep the play focused in the Ducks’ zone, they should come out victorious.

In addition, the Oilers have to make the most of their power-play and scoring chances and continue to show great speed. Leon Draisaitl was unstoppable and moving his feet the entire time. He will be an asset against the Ducks Wednesday.

As for lines, they are expected to remain the same. Leon Draisaitl was put on his own line, and was a great asset as a centre carrying his own unit. Having that depth down the lineup helps the Oilers create more chances and make the most of their arsenal.

Oscar Klefbom will likely draw back in, but Andrej Sekera will remain out. Eric Gryba, who was outstanding in Game 6, should be the one to keep his spot in the lineup. Though Griffin Reinhart was also great, Gryba played a strong, physical game. Edmonton needs that in Game 7.

The puck drops at 8 p.m. MT, and will probably go down as their most critical game of the year.
