  • TIGHTEN UP – Oilers defence has allowed 113 shots over the last three games, or an average of about 38 per game.  Granted the Capitals and Canucks were a part of those games, but so was Colorado.  As our very own OilOnWhyte correspondent Samson touched upon yesterday, Andy Sutton will be out of the lineup for this hit against Gabriel Landeskog for at least tonight’s game, keeping the shots down won’t become any easier.  Jeff Petry is inserted back into the lineup in place of Sutton.
  • The forwards…stay the same.  Gagner will still be on 3RW and the young guns stay intact on top.  Side note:  if you’ve been under a rock for the last few days, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is going to hang around for a while.  When you’re on a four game winning streak, it’s hard to argue with results.   Could use a couple more goals, though. Speaking of goals…
  • AN UNLIKELY SOURCE– Awesome to get goals from guys like Andy Sutton and Cam Barker against the Avalanche.  Cam Barker’s feed from Sam Gagner was a beaut.  While the first line is scoring the big points, it’s huge to get points from places you don’t expect.
  • After an 40 save relief effort by Devan Dubnyk, Nikolai Khabibulin will get the nod tonight.  Khabibulin’s been on fire, a force to be reckoned with.  Can he keep the ball rolling for the Oilers?
