Please recall this past Saturday. You may remember it as the one where the Oilers had 56 shots and came back from a three goal deficit.

That’s true, all that happened.

And, it was *nice*.

But, the Oilers had a couple of injuries. Those in fact, weren’t so nice.

Teemu Hartikainen went off with a shoulder injury due to a hit from Colorado’s Patrick Bordeleau during the second period.  He didn’t return, raising some concern as to if (and how long) he’d miss any time.

Coach Krueger confirmed today that Hartikainen is not expected to miss any time, which is a pretty good bullet dodged by the Oilers.

As for Lennart Petrell (who took a puck to the head during warmup on Saturday), Krueger states that Petrell isn’t going on IR (yet), and he’s day-to-day due to some dizziness.  Also of note:  Ryan Jones might work his way back into the lineup by the weekend, as he was in and out of the fourth line at today’s practice.

With the exception of Shawn Horcoff, the Oilers have been fairly lucky with injuries.  Eric Belanger was able to come back from two broken toes in a relatively quick fashion, and it sounds pretty good for Hartiakainen.  With Ryan Jones possibly coming back by the weekend, it gives the Oilers a little bit of breathing room.
