It’s been a rough go of things for both Team Germany and Team Latvia so far.

Eight different skaters had goal for the United States.

The Americans had three point games by Alex Galchenyuk and Riley Barber, while Team Germany couldn’t get out of the gate.

NOTES

Eight different USA skaters had goals (Alex Galchenyuk, Seth Jones, Riley Barber, Sean Kuraly, Jacob Trouba, Ryan Hartman, Shayne Gostisbehere, JT Miller).

Two goaltenders were used in Team USA’s shutout – John Gibson (two periods, 19 saves) and Jon Gilles (one period, seven saves). Team Germany’s Marvin Cupper faced 46 shots and made 48 saves.

Like Team Latvia, Team Germany has had a hard go of it in their first two games. Germany has scored three goals in 120 minutes of international competition, while yielding seventeen. On average, that’s about one goal per seven minutes of play.

Team United States will face off against Nail Yakupov and Team Russia on Friday morning at 7:00 (9 Eastern), while Team Germany looks to bounce back against Team Russia on Saturday morning at 7:00 (9 Eastern).

Check here sometime Friday afternoon for Germany / Russia lines. If Russia is giving less than 7, I’d wager a fiver on Russia.
