Long-time Edmonton Oilers dressing room attendent Joey Moss was honored Friday by two professional hockey societies.

Wayne Gretzky first brought Moss on board with the organization during the 1984-85 campagin. Moss has been working as the team’s locker room attendent for over 30 years. He has made an outstanding impact with the team, not only as an attendent but as a friend and fan of the organization. Through all of the team’s culture changes, Moss has remained as the heart of the Oilers organization.

“Joey has always been a huge part of the Edmonton Oilers dressing room,” head equipment manager Jeff Lang told Oilers.com. “Every day Joey brings his smile and brightens the room with his presence and wit. We are lucky to have him as a part of our organization and we congratulate him on being recognized.”

Prior to working with the Oilers, Moss worked with a bottle depot in Edmonton. Gretzky would see him waiting for his bus every morning, no matter the weather or circumstances. That was when Gretzky decided there was certainly a place for him with the team.

Moss’s dedication, passion and outstanding work ethic have not only helped him, but the organization as well. His positivity and enthusiasm for the Oilers spreads to the players, coaches and rest of the staff.
