Oilers Live Blog Free Agent Frenzy--LIVE NOW!

Join me for a live blog starting at 10:00 AM Mountain. Who will the Oilers sign? Refresh your coffee and your web page with Oil on Whyte! Free Agent Frenzy is on!

10:03–Here we go!

10:07–Spezza traded to the Stars! Centre competition even tighter now.

10:09–Oilers can forget about Ehrhoff. He has signed in Pittsburgh for one year. Only four million. Seems like a bargain. Although he was -27 in Buffalo last season.

10:13—OILERS sign Mark Fayne and Benoit Pouliot–more to come!

10:16–No word yet on Pouiot’s term. 6’3, 197 lbs, had his most productive year last season with fifteen goals and 21 assists.

10:18–Fayne is a four year contract, but no word on salary. Ok, now we know Pouliot is signed to a five year, 20 million dollar contract. I like the salary but that’s a long commitment. MacT must like what he sees.

10:21–Manny Malholtra signs for 850k in MTL.

10:22–Bleacher Report saying Fayne’s salary is 14.5, not an extreme overpay, in my mind.

10:25–Pouliot not on the radar. If they are looking to remake the third line into a scoring line, he would seem to figure as the first piece.

10:28–Josh Gorges to Buffalo for a mere 2nd round pick! How did MacT miss out on that??

10:29–Alex Chaisson, Nicholas Paul and Alex Guptill sent to Ottawa in trade.

10:31–Statsny goes to St. Louis. Yikes, they are gonna be scary.

10:33–He gets seven million per year, at four years. Oilers offered eight years at 6 per.

10:34–Mike Cammalleri signs for 25 mil @ 5 years with the Devils–Burke let him walk for nothing!

10:38–Former Oiler Tom Gilbert gets big payday in Montreal 2yrs @ 2.8 per. A bit of a surprise after Gorges trade.

10:39–Dan Boyle, 2yrs at 4.5 per in NY for Rangers. Names are falling fast.

10:44–Jussi Jokinen signs in Florida for four years at four million a year. Finn wants a tan.

10:45–Defender Clayton Stoner goes to Anaheim for four years, 13.5 million.

10:47–Dave Bolland goes to Florida as well. 5 @ 5.5. Tallon overpaying. I must admit Florida starting to look better as off season goes on.

10:50–Oilers miss out on Statsny and Bolland. I don’t mind. Statsny would have been good but he was never coming to Edmonton. Bolland too small, and would have been too much like Gagner.

10:52–If the Sabres and Panthers can overpay, will MacT still get an available centre like Legwand?

10:57–Mason Raymond leaves Maple Leafs for Calgary Flames.

10:59–Brooks Orpik defects to Washington Capitals. No word on salary.

11:00–Ryan Miller signs in Vancouver.

11:02–Horcoff and Hemsky reunited! Spezza gets to play with Hemsky. Great move by Dallas.

11:05–Hemsky gets 4 mil @ 3yrs.

11:06–Avs acquire Brad Stuart for 2nd and 6th round picks from Sharks.

11:14–Brian Gionta to Sabres.

11:15–Bob Stauffer says Patrik Berglund on trade block. Looking for a first round pick. Oilers unlikely to bite on that.

11:20–Keith Aulie signed by Oilers, looking to be the 7th d-man, according to Stauffer.

11:22–One year term for Aulie. Huge player, at 6’6.

11:25–Still plenty of decent centres on the market for Oilers. Grabbo in the works?

11:29–Oilers are bigger now. 3 6’2 plus d-men, big Teddy Purcell and there’s still ninety minutes before it closes for the day. Hope out there for an astute signing.

11:34–Jonas Hiller signs with Flames for 4.5 @ 2 yrs.

11:38–Vanek signs with Wild.

11:44–3 yrs/19.5 mil for Vanek.

11:59–Maple Leafs sign Stephane Robidas to 3yr/9mil contract.

12:07–Matt Moulson back in Buffalo 5yr/25 mil.

12:09–Devils sign Martin Havlat.

12:20–Grabbo looking for 5 at 5. Does MacT pull the trigger? I do it.

12:25–Iginla signs in Colorado. 3yr/16 mil for Iggy.

12:36–Stralman signs in Tampa Bay for 5 years at 4 per year. Dang. Oilers lose out on the beaches.

12:59–Free Agency Closed. Stay tuned for updates!
