The Edmonton Oilers will be without centre Sam Gagner for at least another week according to Mark Spector of Sportsnet, via Twitter.
Gagner, who has played since early September when he suffered a broke jaw on a careless play by Vancouver Canucks Zack Kassian is skating with the team and went as far as to re-join them during their recent east-coast trip.
The shifty centreman has said he feels good and if it were up to him he’d be back in the lineup already, but he must wait for team doctors to clear him medically.
As Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports, Gagner will be forced to make some changes and break a habit that he is known for with his mouth guard.
Toughest adjustment for Gagner when he returns. He can’t chew on his mouth guard like he used to. Must break the habit.

The original concern when Gagner suffered the injury was the lack of depth up the middle on the Oilers roster. But it’s safe to say that the team doesn’t need to rush number 89 back when Mark Arcobello has played admirably this year.
