Edmonton Oilers @ Calgary Flames
03 APR 2013 – 8:00 PM MST
Television – Sportsnet West
- Third of four meetings between these two in 2013. Oilers can leap into the eighth spot in the Western Conference with a victory tonight. I had to triple-check that to make sure I wasn’t high on quaaludes or something. Winners of their last four, Edmonton will look to make it five in a row with a victory over the Calgary Flames at the Dome. Calgary has lost their last two in a row including a 4-1 loss to the Oilers on Monday. Flames are 4-6 in their last ten.
- Oilers Roster look familiar? It should. It’s the same one before deadline day. At least they kept Paajarvi. I don’t say that lightly. Newly acquired Oiler Jerred Smithson will not be in the lineup tonight.
- KEYS TO THE GAME: More than 20 shots plz. Edmonton scored four in twenty shots, and while they did chase Miikka Kiprusoff from the net, you’re not going to continue a streak on 20 shots for very long. Oilers were outshot 17-3 in the third period last game, that’s a trend that can’t continue.
- Look for Devan Dubnyk (11-10-6 / 2.52 / .922%) to carry the load tonight in goal, for Calgary you can expect to see Joey MacDonald (4-6-1, 2.79 / .898%)
Just tell Ladi if we win tonight we are in playoff spot. He does not know what that means. #oilerforlife
