OFFICIAL: Jarome Iginla Traded To The Pittsburgh Penguins

Jarome Iginla has not been traded to the Boston Bruins.

He’s been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

TO PITTSBURGH:  From Calgary, Jarome Iginla

TO CALGARY:  From Pittsburgh, Ben Hanowski, Kenny Agostino and a 2013 first round pick.

What a night.

About two hours ago, it appeared that Iginla was headed to Boston for a pair of players and a first round pick.  It later turned into a conditional pick.  Then, no one was quite sure when Bob McKenzie and others suggested that the deal was unofficial.

Now, it’s official, and Iginla is headed to Pittsburgh.

Calgary will receive right winger Ben Hanowski and left winger Kenny Agostino along with Pittsburgh’s first round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.

High drama.

More on this in tomorrow morning’s links.
