Mark Fistric Heads To Injured Reserve To Make Room For Newly Acquired Mike Brown

Mark Fistric (elbow – don’t click if you’re squeamish)  is headed to the injured-reserve list, likely retroactive to Friday in order to make roster room for newly-acquired Mike Brown.

According to the Oilers, Brown “might” play tomorrow.

Moving Fistric to IR kicks the can down the road for a few days. Once Fistric is ready to play again, the Oilers will need to either send a player down to Oklahoma City, or get rid of one via trade or otherwise.  In other words, I’m a bit worried about Magnus Paajarvi although I don’t think I should be.

Mike Brown was acquired by the Oilers earlier today from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a conditional pick.  He’ll be placed somewhere in the bottom six (likely on the fourth line) in an effort to create some sandpaper, grit, toughness, nails, or any other generic carpentry word that for whatever reason is attributed to tough guys in hockey.

Maybe we’ll see Brown on the PK.  This would interest me.
