Hall suspended for 2 games.

Taylor Hall has been suspended for 2 games after this hit on Cal Clutterbuck.
The hit took place late in the third period of last night’s 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild.
A few thoughts on the hit -
- This hit is probably perfectly legal 20 years ago. Â Today, it won’t fly. Â Just like Scott Stevens making work of Eric Lindros, Stevens would probably face a substantial suspension if the Lindros hit happened today.
- My opinion? Â It was a bad hit. Â Hall hit Clutterbuck some on the hip, and some on the knee. Â It’s not 100% clean either way. Â If it was a flying hip check, Hall gets no games. Â It wasn’t a clean hip check, and that’s why we’re here today.
- I don’t think Taylor Hall did this to be malicious. Â I do think Hall wanted to lay the guy out. Â I don’t think he wanted to cripple the guy at centre ice. Â It was a bad decision, and when he went in to commit, it was too late to pull back. Â Then again, I’m not in Taylor Hall’s head.
