  •  Third game in a five game homestand for the Oilers.  Oilers roared back from a three goal deficit against Colorado on Saturday to defeat the Avalanche 6-4.
  • LINE CHANGE:  Not many.  Whitney with Petry tonight, and Smid teams with Fistric.
  • Oilers took me by surprise in going with Nikolai Khabibulin.  Khabibulin played well in relief of Devan Dubnyk this past Saturday, turning aside 16 of 17 shots in relief.  Coach Krueger said that he’s “very happy” with Devan Dubnyk, but is giving Khabibulin the start due to the way he stepped in and relief  In two games, Khabibulin is 1-1-0 with a ..936 SV% and a 1.84 GAA.  Jonathan Quick was the first goaltender off the ice today, expect him to get the start.  Quick is 3-5-2 with a .895 SV% and a 2.74 GAA.
  • LA’s leading scorer is Anze Kopitar.  Kopitar has 9 points (4-5-9) in twelve games.
  • MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING:  You thought the Yakupov Celebration story died?  I hoped it died.  During today’s media scrum, Krueger was asked if he believed the LA Kings were ready to retaliate for Nail Yakupov‘s now famous goal celebration.  His answer:  no.    Good.  If Yakupov scores and does the backstroke, then maybe.  We should be OK.
