Deep breaths, people.

  • Take a good look at those centres, because those are the centres that will be playing in tonight’s game against Dallas.  Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is out with what’s being called a shoulder issue, but he’s expected to play on Saturday night against Detroit. I am not confident in any shoulder issue being resolved in two days, but that’s what’s being banked on.
  • Back to those centres.  Arcobello will play between Hall and Eberle in an attempt to spark some of that magic that went down in Oklahoma City during the lockout.  Arcobello will also be playing in his first NHL game tonight, and Hall / Eberle are good company to have on your maiden voyage.  Sam Gagner will remain on the line with Hemsky and Yakupov.  Ryan Smyth is going to centre the line with Hordichuk and Petrell (do we call this the third line?  Fourth line?  I’m so confused).  The aptly named Nordic Line will remain intact.  Deep breaths.
  • Mark Fistric will not play in tonight’s game after suffering a back injury from missing a check in Monday’s game versus Vancouver.  Ryan Whitney is back on third pair.
  • Jaromir Jagr is Dallas’ top active scorer.  Jagr has six points (2-4-6) in nine games.  Ray Whitney also has six points, but is on injured reserve with a lower body injury.
  • Devan Dubnyk will get his tenth consecutive start.  Like the Oilers, Dubnyk is 4-3-2 with a .925 SV% and a 2.56 GAA.  Dallas will likely go with goaltender Kari Lehtonen, who sports nearly identical stats at 4-2-1, .925 SV% and 2.53 GAA.

Deep breaths for sure. Seems like just the other day I was looking at injury updates and thinking we were so fortunate to have most everyone healthy. Oh wait. It was just the other day. Erp! May want to drink a lot to get through tonight’s game.
