Mark Arcobello had 3-16-19 over 12 games between Dec. 8th and Jan. 1st playing mostly with Hall and Eberle

With Shawn Horcoff out for a month with a broken knuckle, the Edmonton Oilers have recalled Mark Arcobello from the Oklahoma City Barons.
A LITTLE ABOUT ARCOBELLO
The 24 year old Arcobello will be in the lineup for Wednesday’s game versus Dallas.
It will be his NHL debut.
Arcobello has 39 points (14-25-39) in 43 games. Nearly half of those points were tallied while playing with Hall and Eberle during the NHL lockout.
Arcobello will find himself on the third line between Ryan Smyth and Lennart Petrell while Anton Lander holds steady as 4C.
Arcobello started at this year’s AHL Dunkin’ Donuts All Star Game in Providence, a game that saw him net three assists.
Trial by fire for Mark Arcobello. He’s getting thrown into a compromising situation. Shawn Horcoff evoked the ire of many an Oilers fan for not lighting up the scoresheet after landing his six year deal. But, don’t underestimate Horcoff. Not only is Horcoff a pretty good player at the dot (he’s averaged 50% or greater at the dot in every game he’s played this season, save the last game against Vancouver), at 34 years of age, he hasn’t shown any signs of eroding play. He’s still a valuable contributor to the bottom six (and, to the team overall), which is something we couldn’t say about the latter stages of Ethan Moreau.
Here’s hoping Arcobello can pick up some of the pieces left from Horcoff’s absence.
