Here Is The 23 Man Roster For Your 2013 Edmonton Oilers

Here is the 23 man roster.  These players will travel with the team to Vancouver on Sunday for the season opener.

Not bad at all.

NOTES

  • Just a hunch, but I think Fistric will be 6D on Sunday.  I’m wrong a lot, but I think he’s in the top six and Potter will be odd man out.
  • I’ve got RNH with Hall / Eberle on the first line and Gagner with Hemsky / Yakupov on line 2.  Komrade Horcov on line three with Smyth and Hartikainen.   Line 4?  Shake them dice.   Belanger to C, and if I’m king of the world, my fourth line is 91-20-37.  The Oilers will likely dress one tough guy, so let it be Eager in for 37.
  • LOOK AT THOSE POWER PLAY UNITS.  If you’re not excited about anything, get excited about those.
  • Yann Danis is the team’s backup goaltender, at least on Sunday.  Word is that Khabibulin will be back before too long.  Khabibulin says he’s not yet in game shape.  Coach Krueger says Peckham (physically unable to perform) will get another look on Monday, while Jones (eye) is still recovering.

Here’s the blog schedule (subject to change)

Saturday:  Weekend Link Extravaganza

Sunday:  Game day coverage.  Maybe even a liveblog.  We’re fancy like that.
