The Edmonton Oilers have recalled goaltender Yann Danis from Oklahoma City.
In a tweet from the Oilers, Coach Krueger says that the team is positioning themselves in case Khabibulin (hip) doesn’t get cleared to play tomorrow, which leads me to believe that Khabibulin won’t be cleared to play in time by the roster needs to be set tomorrow.
It’s unclear as to if or how long Khabibulin will be out of action, as Krueger is playing the ‘precautionary’ card right now.
Jonathan Willis pointed out that Khabibulin played in the scrimmage yesterday, so it appears that Khabibulin isn’t expected to be too far away from the lineup.
Danis has posted a 13-12-3 record and a .905 SV% in 28 games with the Barons this year. He appeared in one game with the Oilers last year in relief of Devan Dubnyk, a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
The Oilers sent Taylor Fedun, Chris Vande Velde and Colten Teubert to OKC.
