Happy New Year from Oil On Whyte

I’m not big on resolutions, disillusions, revolutions, or any kind of -ions, to be honest.

Good riddance, 2012.

Oh, we had some fun in 2012.  At least, the first half.  Sort of, I mean, if you take out the whole Oilers-missing-the-playoffs-again thing, then it was OK.

We got to see the LA Kings win the Stanley Cup.  They took out Vancouver in round one, that was fun, right?

We got to see Jordan Eberle’s explosive season.

Devan Dubnyk had 20 wins.  He’s the first Oilers goaltender to do that since Dwayne Roloson.

Taylor Hall (when healthy) is just a giant hot knife through a giant hotel slab of butter.

The Nuge?  Still huge.

We’ve been treated to some great end of year hockey with the Spengler Cup and the World Juniors.

There’s still that whole NHL thing that’s been on a shelf for some time.

The NHL lockout has sucked the life out of a lot of people.  Players, fans, fans of players, I’m sure some parking lot attendants have really begun to feel the pinch…but anyways, you’re still here.

And thanks for coming.  I really appreciate it.

2012 was our third year of operation.  We look to bring you three more, and then three more after that.  Then, maybe three more.

May your 2013 be bright and full of hockey.  NHL hockey, even.
