The David Musil trade is now old news. The Oil Kings roster now includes 4 of the 6 Oilers’ CHL prospects: Musil, Mitch Moroz, Travis Ewanyk, and the injured Martin Gernat. If the Oil Kings were permitted to acquire OHL players, I’m sure that Daniil Zharkov and Tobias Rieder would also be on their way to Edmonton soon.
Since the trade, Musil has tallied 2 goals and 2 assists in 11 games. Those obviously aren’t big offensive numbers, but that’s not what he’s known for. Recently on Lowetide.ca, Musil was ranked #9 among Oilers’ prospects. There are some good quotes in that post, so you might want to check it out.
There is some disappointing news tonight on Tobias Rieder. Mike Farwell, analyst for the Kitchener Rangers, reports via Twitter,
Update on Tobias Rieder: blocked a shot with his ankle on the PK, on crutches now, x-rays tomorrow morning. #OHLRangers
