Remember the feeling after three days of progress? It was pretty cool. Both sides were talking, and even fans seemed confident that rocks were starting to be moved in this arduous labour struggle.
Then came Sunday, and we’re back to a halt. Thank God, I thought we might have been getting somewhere there for a while.
If the NHL labor war ends in another canceled season, the Hockey Hall of Fame should add a lockout exhibit. In its outhouse. #Flush

Another satisfied customer.
It now appears that there are but three magical issues that are keeping this season from getting off the ground. Let’s do a dry run:
- the split of money
- player contract rules, and
- who pays for the damage caused by the lockout.
That’s it. The NHL and the PA just need to figure out who gets paid what, who gets bought out when, and who gets money for allowing the other side to get us into this mess. This sounds like something we can hash out in the next week, right?
Don’t hold your breath.
Still holding on to mid-January.
