Five Moments

An effort to break up the lockout monotony. Here are few memories from the 2011-2012 Oilers season.

This is Jordan Eberle’s 30th goal of the 2011-12 season, it comes in San Jose.  Dan Boyle doesn’t quite corral the puck when Whitney clears it into the zone.  Eberle pops it up and in.  I’ll take about 500 more of those.

It took Ryan Nugent-Hopkins a handful of days to score his first NHL career hat trick.  There was a pretty big debate as to whether or not Taylor Hall made contact with the puck before it crossed the line, but Nugent-Hopkins was awarded his first NHL hat trick.  Having your first NHL hat trick come against the Canucks is also a nice little bonus.

There are a few Devan Dubnyk clips that are worthy of a highlight reel, but this one in April is tops.  Dubnyk robs Chris Higgins from a certain goal here.  With any luck, Dubnyk will make about 2500 saves next season, provided there is one.  Perhaps they won’t be nearly as grandiose as this one.  Or this one.

There’s been more than a fair share of talk about Sam Gagner’s amazing eight point performance in February of this year.  And, we’ve covered Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ hat-trick a few videos up.  Ryan Jones had himself a hat trick in December against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are currently running a strange Twitter campaign to “defend NWA”.

FINALLY

Ben Eager scores one against Semyon Varlamov.  In Russian.
