Oilers Are 30-1 Favourites To Win Cup, Let’s Go Gambling

Preliminary odds have been released for the 2013 Stanley Cup winner.  The Oilers are about where you’d expec-… hey, wait a minute, they’re not at the bottom.  Actually, there are a handful of teams that are predicted as longer shots.

The Oilers sit near the middle of the pack at 30-1.  Quick, let’s all get twenty bucks together and go in.  Think of what you could do with $600!  Make a car payment!  A month’s rent!  LET IT RIDE IN 2014!

That’s assuming the Oilers win the Cup in 2013.  Kind of a tall order.  Maybe we all throw five bucks instead?

While the Oilers certainly are long shots to win the big trophy next year, bookies aren’t so kind to some teams that I thought would’ve faired at least a little better.  Both the Senators and Coyotes are 40-1.  The Leafs are at 35-1.  Our friends in Calgary are 50-1.  The Islanders start out at a hefty payday of 75-1, while the Columbus Blue Jackets round out the group at 100-1.

Eleven teams are longer shots to win the Cup than the Oilers.  Now let’s go make a million.
