To an extent, you're right. However, please recall a while back when one Tyler Dellow busted open a fairly big case regarding Gregory and Colin Campbell when Colin Campbell called Marc Savard "a little fake artist".

Dellow wrote a fantastic piece ( http://www.mc79hockey.com/?p=3518 ), Soon after, copies of the entire text were appearing on the Internet.

His site was bombarded with traffic (it was a big story), and he began experiencing bandwidth issues. I can remember at least one case where someone simply copied and pasted his article, giving credit and the such.
Dellow got wist of it, and asked the guy to remove it. That's completely within Tyler's rights. Attribution or not, Canadian, American (or otherwise), if someone forbids you permission to use their work, you've got to comply with removal or face suit.
Case in point: If a photographer emails myself or my staff and says we're not to use his work, we have to remove any images we've used, or face suit.

As far as 'mainstream' goes, I hope we haven't jumped the shark. This site is owned by Fansided LLC (Americans!) and Oil On Whyte has at least one American who contributes fairly regularly. Now, Grant's Twitter handle has appeared on Sportscentre.

It's easy to see that you and C&B don't get along, but I'm fairly certain that anyone who writes that much about a near last place hockey team isn't doing it just for money.

If we get groupies, I'll agree that we've made it big. I'm also certain that Grant's wife would kill him.

Cheers!
