Fifth of six meetings between these two clubs. Oilers looking to get the foul taste of the Toronto OT loss out of their mouths with a victory against the Avalanche tonight. The Oilers are 5-3-2 over the last ten, while the Avs are 3-5-2 over the same period. Oilers lead the season series 3-1.
Ryan O’Reilly continues to lead the Avalanche in scoring this year with 41 points (15-26-41). Unless you’re a big Avs fan, I’d be surprised if you got that. Ah well, let’s have a beer and discuss how there aren’t any players like Andrei Kovalenko any more.
For those clamouring for more Barker, here’s your chance. He gets paired up again with Andy Sutton on the third pair. I’ve beaked Barker pretty good over the last few days, so give ‘em hell tonight, Barker. Haven’t heard anything from the Corey Potter camp regarding his injury.
Devan Dubnyk will be doing the heavy lifting in goal tonight for the Oilers. Dubnyk looks for his 11th victory this season. A solid performance tonight will help his SV% climb closer to .910, which is good. Not great, but getting there. Right?
