Los Angeles Kings @ Edmonton Oilers

Your Game Preview awaits after the jump. Put on a life jacket.
Lines were not available at press time.
Third of a three game homestand for the Edmonton Oilers. Oilers have taken one point in two games so far, and are 2-7-1 over their last ten. The Kings disposed of the Flames 4-1 last night at the Saddledome, and are 6-1-3 over their last ten. While it’s possible the Oilers can go down in the standings, there’s nowhere to go but up after Friday’s 5-0 trouncing at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks. If you were lucky enough to miss it, good for you.
- Anze Kopitar is Los Angeles’ leading scorer with 41 points (14-27-41) in 45 games. Four other Kings have at least twenty points.
- Oilers’ Team Skills competition took place yesterday, and Andy Sutton won the hardest shot competition clocking in at 102 MPH. I’d like to see some KPH readings just so numbers like 154 would pop up. We need to grab onto something here.
- I’d expect to see Khabibulin get another nod here. As angry as fans were after the Anaheim game, it would be wholly improper to lump it all on him. I’m going to forget to mention the number between eleven and thirteen, but *that* specific integer is the win number he’s currently seeking on the season. Kings netminder Jon Quick got the call last night in Calgary, don’t be too surprised if you see Jonathan Bernier starting this evening.
Get out there, make things happen. If Renney gets tossed from the game for throwing stuff on the ice, it’s better than nothing.
