With seventeen straight losses against the Minnesota Wild, it’s time for this curse to end. The two teams that play each other today are vastly different (and more improved) than the teams they were when this damned curse started.
Ryan Whitney is playing in this game this afternoon. this will go a long way to shoring up the Oilers blue line. And when you’re playing the number one team in the west (that’s right the Wild are first) you will need all the help you can get. you wont see the usual 24 mins like before he was injured last year, but you should see him on the second unit PP where I called on twitter today, that he will get his first from the point!
If the Oilers can play like they did against the Predators last game, they have a real opportunity to take it t another team that plays a simillar defensive style game. They key again is score first and get the Wild on their heels. Not to mention the Oilers seem to play a pedal to the metal style when they are in the lead. See Nashville game, and Chicago game. Also, the Oilers need to chip pucks in and get a step on the defence ofthe wild and make sure they use their sped to get to the puck first and set-up a play. When Edmonton does this, they have been very succesful.
Oilers win this game end this curse by a score of 3-2.
GO Oilers GO!
