THE DRIVE FOR SEVEN: This isn’t a dream, or a late night infomercial. The Oilers are legit going after their seventh victory tonight, and the Phoenix Coyotes stand in their way. Devan Dubnyk is slated to get the nod tonight. He’s got a pretty hard act to follow in Nikolai Khabibulin, but Dubnyk’s played quite well in his appearances this season (2-2-0, 1.98 GAA and .938 SV%). For the first time in a couple of years, both goaltenders on this team have me feeling quite confident as a fan.
- Bob Stauffer reports that Hemsky is close to returning, and Cam Barker will be out again. With the exception of Devan Dubnyk starting, lines are expected to remain the same.
- Ray Whitney is still doing his thing in Phoenix. Whitney leads the Coyotes in scoring with 12 points (5-7-12) in 12 games.
- Top 5 Oilers in scoring: RNH (5-6-11), Smyth (6-5-11), Eberle (3-7-10), Hall (3-6-9), Potter (2-6-8)
