IT'S OFFICIAL, SORT OF...

The twitterverse is a-buzz with news that Linus Omark has been assigned to the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL. I am happy to say that I can now officially put to bed the Omark talk (for now anyways). It was high time the Oilers made a decision with this player. I guess the Oilers will not officially anounce the assignment until tomorrow.

I have told everyone my feelings about this ad-nauseum, so I won’t start again, but I’m just glad he’s going to get some ice-time. The indications from tweeps is that Omark will elect to stay in North America. He has a clause in his contract that allows him to go back and play in Sweden instead. Personally, I will be happy if he stays, so that I can see him prove all his dissenters wrong, when he gets back to the show.

Quick hit…

I was surprised to see Andy Sutton get a five game suspension for his hit on Gabriel Landeskog of the Clorado Avalanche! This seems severe when the hit Wojtek Wolski made on Daniel Alfredsson of the Ottawa Senators was way worse! And Wolski did’nt get a hearing, much less a suspension. Check it out.

Now look at the hit by Sutton, and you decide…

GO Omark GO!
