Blues Claim Chorney

Gene Principe has tweeted that defenceman Taylor Chorney has been claimed by the St. Louis Blues.  Chorney was sent down yesterday because someone is about to come off of IR.  Hopefully, that person is Ryan Whitney.

Chorney played in 56 career games for the Oilers.  He was expected to make his season debut in Oklahoma City on Friday versus the San Antonio Rampage.  Taylor Chorney could be a likely replacement for Blues defenceman Carl Colaiacovo, who has been placed on IR.

Gotta say, Chorney was about the last player I’d expect to be plucked from the waiver wire.  I wonder how NEAL! is taking it.  I’m not thrilled that the Oilers lose another defenceman (this time to waivers), but good luck to Taylor Chorney in St. Louis.
