Lines and some super important bulletin board material after the jump
Lines courtesy Edmonton Oilers
- It’s crunch time. You’re seeing all of the bubble players in the lineup tonight, and it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see most of them tomorrow in Vancouver. Lennart Petrell, Ryan Keller, Anton Lander, Teemu Hartikainen, Darcy Hordichuk, Gilbert Brule and Ryan O’Marra are all in tonight’s lineup trying to grab at one of the final roster spots before Edmonton’s home opener on the 9th of October. If I was a guessing man (and I kinda am here), I’d guess there are two spots up for grabs on the front four, and one on defence. I’ll say Lander is in (with Petrell if Eager isn’t ready to go).
- Speaking of defence, there are probably three guys on tonight’s roster that are clawing for that final roster spot in Chorney, Fedun and Petry. A month ago I would’ve selected Petry off the shelf, but Taylor Fedun is more than making his case. Taylor Chorney has shown better this year than any previous, he remains my third choice.
- Eric Belanger on the number one line will guarantee he sees his fair share of faceoffs. Tonight’s prediction: 7/13 (or about 54%)
- If Devan Dubnyk doesn’t start against Pittsburgh on the ninth, I’m hurling my monitor out the second story window. If he posts an average Dubnyk start, and Khabibulin…you know…
