I was going to post part two of my Almost Over! article today, but then I read this article by James Duthie on TSN that he originally wrote 10 years ago. I won’t say too much as this article says pretty much everything I would want to say. All I will add is that I was in the USA that day 10 years ago, and it definitely put things into a different light. I remember walking down the street and being accosted by a crazy guy who told us that New York was gone. We didn’t believe him (and though he heavily over-exaggerated, it was still hard to believe) until we went to a friends house and watched live as the Towers fell. I remember the anger, the fear, and mostly the extreme sadness that was felt by everyone. Hopefully nothing like this (or the train bombings in London and other places, and other such events) ever happens again, and hopefully someday everyone will be able to enjoy the peace and freedom (and yes even the sports) that we do here in Canada.
