2009 draft pick Anton Lander has signed an entry level contract with the Oilers.
Centre Anton Lander is the Edmonton Oilers’ second pick (40th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft. In the West, Lander is likely most known for being countryman Magnus Paajarvi’s linemate on Timra.
Lander has finished his fourth season with Timra of the Swedish Elite League, and will likely compete for a job with the OKC Barons come this fall. Should the Oilers fall victims to another season of injury whack-a-mole, you might see Lander filling in on the big club a la Linus Omark.
In four years with Timra, Lander has compiled 23G-32A-55PTS in 177 GP
Any way you slice it, this is certainly great news. Lander is a top prospect for the Oilers, and it’s great to see him commit to wearing Oiler threads.
Here’s a taster to hold you over.
You might have to watch that three or four times. Incredible.
