The Oilers will be picking first overall come this June, but you can at least in part thank the New Jersey Devils for that. With just a 3.6% chance of winning the draft, New Jersey came through in fine fashion, pushing the Islanders to fifth overall, the Senators to sixth (ouch), but keeping Edmonton right where it was at first overall.

And there you have it. Ottawa and NYI aren’t feeling this one so much, but NJ gets a pretty big jump. All’s right in Edmonton.
