Bits And Pieces - Oilers vs. Lightning Preview

Some things to look for:

  • Taylor Hall is grouped up with potential first line regular season centre Sam Gagner and likely first line right wing Ales Hemsky.  Tampa Bay has opted to dress like Edmonton last night in that many of their superstars will rest for this game.  There’s no Lecavalier and no Stamkos.  There is a Ryan Malone, a Steve Downie and a Mattias Ohlund however.
  • Cogliano will centre line 2 with some good company in Dustin Penner and Paajarvi.  Now win some draws, Cogs.
  • Former Oiler Marc Pouillot is slated as the fourth line centre for Tampa Bay.  Likewise, it will be Kurtis Foster’s first game against his former club as a member of the Oilers.
  • Two Young Guns (Pitlick and Omark) will man the fourth line with Steve MacIntyre.  That’s an eclectic trio.
  • In goal, a lineup you may see in a couple of weeks will be present as Devan Dubnyk is slated to start the game with JDD as his backup.

If Edmonton can start out fast, they should be able to showcase some of the young talent against a Lightning squad that is without their superstars tonight.

Enjoy the game.
